Great coffee, organic wine & local produce in the heart of Boxmoor

Boxmoor residents Claire and Dave Hobson took over coffee & wine in January 2020 not just because they love coffee & wine but because they wanted the village high street to remain vibrant. 2020 was a true baptism of fire getting to grips with running a small hospitality business during a pandemic. The business has been transformed as people have discovered the cosy café while on a lockdown walk; many who try their handcrafted coffees and artisan pastries become hooked! The tiny café punches above its weight, showcasing the best of local products such as artisan pastries from The Bakehouse Apsley, Yvette’s handmade chocolates from Potten End, Chiltern Charcuterie from Berkhamsted, Campfire Gin and Chiltern Cold-Pressed oils from Tring and freshly baked sourdough from Rex Bakery in Little Chalfont.

Open 7 days a week and late every Friday and Saturday, coffee & wine provides a unique friendly meeting place for friends and family. Every weekend at least 13 wines are available by the glass so it’s a great place to try something new. Specialising in organic wine, the owners love to share their knowledge and wine recommendations.

More recently, coffee & wine has started to offer party bookings for up to 12 people, where the whole space can be booked for special occasions, after successful nights hosting larger groups – email for details. Licensed to 11pm, online table bookings are also available for small groups Thursday to Saturday evenings from 9 to 24 December. The evening menu includes sharing boards of charcuterie, cheese and olives (vegan/vegetarian boards can be ordered in advance) and espresso martinis.

Opening hours are extended in December to make it easy and accessible to shop local for Christmas. Gift ideas include bespoke hampers, handpicked wine selections and gift vouchers. coffee & wine excel at finding gifts for the hard to please or the person who has everything. Keep an eye out on their social media in the run up to Christmas for details of hamper showcases and tastings so you can try before you buy. Free delivery is available within 4 miles of the shop.

    Extended opening hours (from 6 December) Mon & Tues 8am to 4pm | Wed & Thurs 8am to 8pm Fri 8am to 9pm | Sat 9am to 9pm | Sun 9am to 6pm
