    The Hospice of St Francis relies upon community fundraising to help fund the £5 million needed each year to provide free care. By supporting the Hospice, you are helping more people in the local community to feel safe and supported through a life-limiting illness and to live their precious life well.

    NEWS & EVENTS

    Hospice Coffee Mornings and Craft Fayres
    On the last Friday of the month (except December) The Hospice of St Francis hosts a Coffee Morning in the Hospice Bistro and a Craft Fayre in the Acorn Suite.  The last event of the year is Friday 24th November. Pop along for a coffee and a chat to find out more about the Hospice and the work that they do. All proceeds from the Craft Fayre go to the Hospice.     Christmas Shopping Events – number twenty event

    Christmas Shopping Events – Returned to Glory event
    Staying home for Christmas is the perfect opportunity to make it memorable.  Join us to get in the festive mood, be inspired to make your home the heart of your Christmas with gifts, decorations, upcycled pieces and soft furnishings! Sat 4th and Sun 5th November / Sat – 9.30am to 5.00pm, Sun – 10am to 4pm / Sat 2nd and 3rd December / Sat – 9.30am to 5.00pm, Sun – 10am to 4pm. (Please note that the showroom will be closed on Friday 3rd November and Tuesday 28th November to prepare for our shopping weekends).

    Big Give
    The Big Give Christmas Campaign: Comfort and Joy for Hospice Patients at Christmas – Tuesday 28th November – Tuesday 5th December. The Big Give Christmas Campaign will raise money to fund precious care in the Hospice Inpatient Unit this Christmas, helping patients and their families enjoy the festive period and make precious memories together.      Christmas Carol Concert at St Albans Cathedral
    Join us for a magical afternoon of popular carols, guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit! With special performances from talented local choirs this Sunday afternoon is the perfect opportunity to bring loved ones together in the spirit of Christmas.  Join us for this special festive concert and support our special Hospice care.     Light Up A Life – In Person event
    Sunday 26th November, 4pm. Join with others for a special event of celebration and remembrance.  At the event. There will be music, children’s craft activities, refreshments, readings, a time for reflection and the lighting of the Hospice Christmas lights.     Light Up A Life – Virtual event

    Sunday 10th December, 4pm
    Join this virtual event online from the comfort of your own home with your friends and family.  The event will include a moment for you to light a candle to remember your loved ones.  To help you fully enjoy the virtual event we are pleased to offer you a Light up a Life pack containing a Hospice candle, event programme and festive hot drink.  Please email lightupalife@stfrancis.org.uk to request your pack

     Christmas Tree Collection 2024
    Over the past 6 years our Christmas Tree Collection has become a vital part of our fundraising. Together you have helped us to raise a truly tree-mendous £112,000! This could help fund our Community Nursing service for 4 months, ensuring that no one dies alone and no carer is left isolated. Registration will open from Monday November 20th – Every January, teams of wonderful volunteers collect Christmas trees to be recycled in the following postcodes: Abbots Langley and Kings Langley (WD4 and WD5). Harpenden (AL5). St Albans (AL1, AL2, AL3 and AL4). Hemel Hempstead (HP1, HP2 and HP3). Tring (HP23). Berkhamsted (HP4). Chesham (HP5).
