The festive family event of the year is here! Make sure you’re in St Albans on the 16th November, when St Peter’s Street, Chequer Street, Victoria Street, High Street and Market Place will be closed to traffic, so that St Albans can come out and play. As well as a large stage near the taxi rank on St Peter’s Street featuring local musicians and bands (as well as a cheeky visit from stars of this year’s Alban Arena panto), we’ll have a brand new School Choirs’ performance area in front of the museum and gallery, featuring local schools, and Ovo Theatre performing Christmas carols at the Clock Tower.
Enjoy a free visit to Santa in his grotto (kindly sponsored by St Albans City Centre BID), discover coding and robotics with Code Ninjas, St Albans, make festive creations at the arts and craft activities, enjoy some great street entertainment and have a go on a fairground ride. Added to all of this will be an array of 100 or so market pitches selling everything from gifts to decorations to jewellery to hats as well as fantastic food and drink. Sit yourselves down with a mulled wine at one of the Costa Coffee Christmas Catch-Up communal seating areas throughout the site, and enjoy yourself with family and friends and watch the spectacle unfold.
