A guided tour of Berkhamsted’s historic town centre, pointing out strategic places of interest. Starting by the main gateway of the Castle, the oldest building, we shall make our way towards the High Street pointing out significant buildings and events as we cross the canal and make our way down Castle Street into the High Street where there is much to see. We shall not spend long at buildings that feature in other Heritage Open Days with their own guided tour. We shall return via Mills Street and the site of the Saxon Mill.
