Join our friendly volunteers every Thursday morning and discover this beautiful wetland nature reserve as it continues to flourish. Wander the paths, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, spot wildlife from the bird hide and learn more about the exciting restoration of this unique habitat.

Mini Rangers
Saturday 5^th September      10.30-11.30am

These sessions are designed to engage children aged 4-7 and inspire a life-long love of nature whilst giving you as a parent the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the natural world, should you wish. Each month will be designed around a different theme and will include a range of activities such as insect hunting, pond dipping, leaf matching and animal tracking. Parents or carers are required to stay for these sessions.           

Youth Rangers

Youth Rangers is a drop off session aimed at 8-16-year-olds who have a passion for nature and want to learn more about the natural world. Each month the Youth Rangers will carry out a different task to get a taste of the role of a Ranger. Activities will vary depending on the season and will include surveying and conservation work.

Prospective Volunteers Meet and Greet

This session is for those interested in volunteering at the Box Moor Trust. You will have the opportunity to meet one of our Rangers who will talk you through what volunteering is like and familiarise you with some of the tasks.

Youth Home Educators Sessions (11-15 years old)

Mini Home Educators Sessions (5-10 year olds)

Join us for these inclusive sessions aimed at children and their parents to explore the natural world around you. Each month will have a different activity/location.

Take a walk through this tranquil micro nature reserve, meet the volunteers who work hard to manage the site, learn about its history as a working watercress farm and take some time to observe the wildlife from the bird hide.
