Family fun at the Autumn Festival
The Trust would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who visited, had a stall, volunteered or performed at our annual Autumn Festival, which took place last month.
We try hard to make this a real community event, and the addition this year of interactive music and dance courtesy of New Moon Morris, Djembe drum workshop, Dacorum Indian Society and Glow Performing Arts proved to be a great hit with families. Other performers included Happy Helly Choir, UkeRhythmics and Berkhamsted Ukulele Random Players. Big Top Mania entertained with their circus workshop, and Magical Story Elves brought their fun dinosaur show once again. With archery, crafts, and pottery as well, there really was something for everyone.
The Army Cadets brought a great new dimension to the event and were extremely helpful all weekend: assisting stallholders unpacking and setting up, manning the sound desk, litter picking, chatting to visitors and generally just being brilliant.
Special thanks to Gin & Fizz, who provided the performance marquee and sound equipment.
We look forward to doing it all again next year!

Corporate volunteers making a difference
A huge thank you to the team from Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC UK) who joined us at Gadespring recently. They rolled up their sleeves (and braved a few stinging nettles) to help us clear invasive orange balsam from the channels in our cress beds. This plant is spreading rapidly along waterways across the country, so tackling it has been a big focus for us this year. The ABC team were fantastic – enthusiastic, hardworking, and glad to swap the office for fresh air and wetlands for the day. Their efforts make a real difference to the health of our reserve, and we’re so grateful for their support. We simply couldn’t do what we do without amazing volunteers like them.
Donating made easy
As a charitable Trust, we are most grateful to our supporters and beneficiaries who kindly make financial donations towards our work. If you would like to donate then please use the button below. Thanks to everyone who has generously donated so far.
