Abbots Langley Orchestra celebrate their 50th year in 2018. To start this year of celebration they present a lyrical concert featuring their leader Marion Garrett playing the Svensen Romance for violin and orchestra. Marion has led the Orchestra for several years and together with Gonzalo Acosta – associate leader of the English National Opera are a perfect team to train the orchestra.

To reflect Gonzalo’s work at the Opera, this concert includes a beautiful and delicate Prelude by Verdi. Kalinnikov’s Serenade is quite unknown but is a delightful song like work for strings alone. After refreshments, the evening finishes with Dvorak's emotional and lyrical 8th symphony.
